ABOUT ME
I've been a writer and director for more that 20 years.
I got into the industry writing the feature film A Single Life. It was produced in 1986, directed by John Power and won an AFI Award, and was screened several times on the ABC in Australia and the BBC in the UK.
After that I wrote more than 20 hours of television drama for the ABC, the Seven Network and Network Ten, including one hour series and children's TV.
I worked for three years at the ABC in Melbourne making documentaries as writer, director and series producer.
I made the documentary Fearless about the indomitable 92 year old playwright Julia Britton, who decided to go to London to put on one of her plays. It screened last year on ABC1 and 2.
Over the years I have assessed screenplays for all the usual suspects, including the AWG. I also work as a script editor.
I am the recipient of an AWGIE Award and two nominations, and have also won awards at the St Kilda Film Festival and the ATOM Awards.
For the past five years I have been the Chair of the Australian Writers' Guild, Victorian Branch.
